Sandeep Reddy Bhanga, the director of 'Animal' and 'Kabir Singh', is back in Telugu cinema. He is teaming up with South superstar Prabhas. The film is titled 'Spirit'. It was initially announced that Bollywood star Deepika Padukone will be playing the female lead in the film.
Last week, there were reports that Deepika had walked out of the film. According to reports, Sandeep did this because of Deepika's 'excessive' demands. Deepika had demanded that she work for only eight hours. Things got a little more complicated when the actress demanded a bigger share of the film's profits.
Deepika even refused to dub the dialogues in Telugu. After that, Tripti Dimri was added in place of Deepika in the film. There was also a 'virtual war' between Sandeep and Deepika's fans over this issue. Ajay Devgn has now spoken out on this much-discussed issue.
Deepika agreed to work in the film on the condition that she would not work for more than eight hours after becoming a mother. However, the director was completely unwilling to accept Deepika's demands. Sandeep dismissed Deepika from the film, calling her 'feminist'.
However, no matter how much the director calls Deepika's eight-hour work as feminism, Ajay Devgn has now stood by Deepika on this issue. Ajay Devgn and Kajol were recently present at the trailer launch of the film 'Maa'.
When asked about the eight-hour workweek for working mothers at the event, Kajol said, "I think it's a very good proposal." However, before Kajol could say anything else, Ajay interrupted her and said, "There's nothing wrong with it. Most honest filmmakers shouldn't have any problem with this proposal. In any case, mothers work 8-9 hour shifts. That's normal."
