Although the social media accounts of Pakistani celebrities were unblocked for a short time, the central government has again blocked more than 18,000 accounts across various platforms amid criticism.
The social media accounts of some Pakistani actors and cricketers were about to be reopened in India. Within a day of the incident coming to light, the government reportedly blocked them again after an urgent internal review.
Several Pakistani celebs' Instagram accounts were again being accessed in India. Many actors and actresses, as well as former cricketers Shahid Afridi and Shoaib Akhtar's YouTube channels, entertainment platforms such as Hum TV, ARY Digital, and many accounts were visible since July. They were earlier blocked after the Pahalgaon attack.
However, by Thursday morning, these accounts were blocked again in India. According to government sources, more than 18,000 Pakistani social media accounts are now blocked in India.
When innocent people lost their lives in the terrorist attack in Pahalgaon, which was jointly carried out by the Pakistani government and terrorists, several Pakistani celebrities spoke out against India. They claimed that India was blaming Pakistan for the chaos in Pahalgaon. Again, when India retaliated during Operation Sindoor, they stood by Pakistan and criticized India. Most of these celebrities have worked in India and gained fame. After that, the Indian government blocked many social media accounts.
